ON FATHER’S DAY
EXCLUSIVELY IN 3-D

Detailed theatre information and showtimes for the sneak previews of “ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS” are available at http://www.iceagemovie.com/sneak, or check your local listings.

LOS ANGELES, June 18, 2000 __ Families throughout the U.S. will have a special opportunity to check out the upcoming CGI-animated family comedy, “ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS,” at sneak previews held on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, in 330 theatres across the country, exclusively in 3-D.

The sub-zero heroes from the worldwide blockbusters “Ice Age” and “Ice Age: The Meltdown” are back, in an incredible 3-D adventure. This time, they break through the ice to discover a whole new pre-historic world of dinosaurs. Manny prepares to face a new challenge – fatherhood – leaving Sid to feel left out of his friend’s growing family. Determined to start a family of his own, Sid discovers three enormous eggs and decides to adopt the baby dinosaurs that soon hatch. ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS has everything audiences loved about the first two films, but with even more comedy, action, fun, and spectacular visuals.

“ICE AGE DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS” opens wide everywhere Wednesday, July 1, 2009 and features the voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Simon Pegg, and Queen Latifah. Directed by Carlos Saldanha and co-directed by Michael Thurmeier, the CGI animated family comedy was produced by Lori Forte and John C. Donkin and written by Michael Berg & Peter Ackerman and Mike Reiss and Yoni Brenner from a story by Jason Carter Eaton.

Carnivores Unite!

JedMattToni

MGM/UA announces September shooting of Red Dawn remake, due to release Sep 24, 2010.

Set in Washington state this time, we will see Chris Hemsworth (Captain Kirk of the USS Kelvin) leading the Wolverines as Jed Eckert, a role portrayed by Patrick Swayze in the original.

Joining Hemsworth will be Josh Peck (Drake and Josh, The Wackness) and Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) who make up key members of the team, strapping on the boots of Jed’s brother and the spirited, yet stoic, Toni Mason respectively.

John Milius won’t be returning for this remake, the relatively unchallenged Jeremy Passmore and Carl Ellsworth will share the screen-writing credits, with first-time director Dan Bradley leading the effort.

It will be fun to watch a stunt coordinator direct his first film, one thing for sure, this remake will have tons of action!

On the political front, it will be interesting to see how the new Sino-Russian Axis (SCO) will hold up to PC scrutiny where the Cuban-Russian invaders caused such a stir in 1984.

I’m reminded of a classic line from the Millius film delivered by Powers Boothe (the man with no first name) , “Two toughest kids on the block, I guess. Sooner or later, they’re gonna fight.”

I, for one, can’t wait!  Let’s just hope the CIA gets the memo this time and doesn’t mobilize assets to investigate the “invasion” like they did in the 80s because T72s were rolling down Nevada streets.

Trailer: The Proposal

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Rick Swift says, “The ladies will enjoy Reynolds and the men will enjoy Bullock; it’s Disney, so it can’t be awful.  Looks like it has more of an edge than I originally thought, because Bullock’s character is a super bitchy, demanding boss.”

LOCAL SCREENING OPPORTUNITY: Click here! @ Pangea (Hard Rock, Fort Lauderdale, June 12) – Sponsored by DUO Magazine.

The Proposal

When high-powered book editor Margaret (SANDRA BULLOCK) faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she’s actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew (RYAN REYNOLDS), who she’s tormented for years. He agrees to participate in the charade, but with a few conditions of his own. The unlikely couple heads to Alaska to meet his quirky family (MARY STEENBURGEN, CRAIG T. NELSON, BETTY WHITE) and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. With an impromptu wedding in the works and an immigration official on their tails, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly vow to stick to the plan despite the precarious consequences.
