Cattle Bag

Limacher Low Down: I knew of Brandon DiCamillo from his stints w/ CKY, Jackass, and Viva la Bam, but this rare DVD find is footage that he wrote and directed all himself. This DVD has some very funny parts despite the fact it is seemingly a running inside joke that might get lost on MOST viewers.  The warnings before the DVD begins need to be heeded.  This may not have been the funniest thing I have ever seen, but it is truly something I will NEVER forget!

Cattle Bag is a series of skits that each has their own interesting story and sometimes a song that tells the story itself.  Some last longer than others, and some are more humorous than others. The continuity was not really succinct. I believe that some of the skits filmed took months, if not years, to complete. This does not take away from the integrity of the skits, just because I don’t think there was much integrity in this to begin with! I can tell you from watching Cattle Bag, there are parts that are just so awkward you don’t know whether to laugh or turn away. This DVD definitely is eclectic in the way it goes from skit to skit. Nothing really gels together all that well, but I look at it as a Kentucky Fried Movie for a NEW generation.

I enjoyed the songs. Brandon has a style of singing that is all his own, and it seems that most of the lyrics just come right off the top of his head! They are hilarious and just fun to listen to throughout the movie.  This DVD took me back to the days when my friends and I were in high school and would just come up with random shit and make a story out of it. We would videotape ourselves and then go back and just laugh at ourselves – fucking hilarious – to us anyway.

Yes, this DVD has many moments where you will find yourself chuckling saying “What the FUCK is this I’m watching?” I was doing that myself, yet at the same time realizing that someone out there will view this, some cult, niche audience out there that will ask for more. I leave you with the warning if you watch this DVD expecting to see some CKY or Jackass type stunts . . . you will not. Dico was not known as being the stunt guy; he was more of the comic relief just by BEING FUNNY! I recommend fans of CKY, Jackass, and Viva la Bam to give this a shot and take a closer look inside the twisted mind of Brandon DiCamiilo, you might not be shocked by what you see but you’ll come out of it thinking, “What the fuck was that?”
