I agree that this was a very raw movie. I like Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling looking cleanser .
It felt like long movie. I like the three different parts to the story. Kind of a different way to see a story told. Great summary of this story.

I actually met Roger Ebert very briefly in Cannes at the American Pavilion restaurant. Basically I had enough time to shake his hand and say my name, but he did pose for a photo with a group of us AmPav interns, which I sadly don't have. I met quite a few high profile people over there, including a couple of Oscar winners, but he was the only one that made me feel a little star struck. I didn't always agree with his reviews (film reviewing is purely subjective, after all), but he was always articulate and insightful in a way that I only wish I could be.

My very brief encounter with Roger Ebert went like this. I was in high school and my dad and I were in an airport in Ohio (can't recall which one now) and we saw him walk by us. I remarked, loud enough for him to hear me, "Hey dad, that's Ebert!" He looked directly at me and gave me an almost nod and smile. It was simply a . . . yepp, without being cocky about anything.

When I got Limacher involved with iratefilms and he told me the Harry Brown story I was floored! I was jealous too, because while I didn't always agree with Ebert on a lot of films, I always admired his ability to say what he liked and stick to that, whether you liked it or not. He also taught me that tenacity really matters in this industry.

I'm gonna miss him on twitter and elsewhere. He was a real Icon, as Limacher said. Film just lost a large thumb.

I'd have Madonna distract them with her horrible depiction of Argentinian political leader Eva Peron. While the hostage takers are all scratching their heads and saying "what the hell?" in their native language, I'd sneak the hostages out and save them from not only their captors, but also from Madonna.
