Sponsored Video – Six Degrees of Summer
Heraclitus once said, “On a circle, an end point can also be a beginning point.” This is the essence of the Six Degrees project. Shot entirely by smartphone video, O2 Guru TV challenged film-makers to begin their portion with only the slightest hint of where the previous director’s film had ended.

I was incredibly intrigued to take a look behind the scenes with this project, with BAFTA winner Tom Shankland at the helm and John Madden (the British director, not the EA Sports coach) contributing as well. A total of six films together, with the fourth installment selected from viewer films. It’s too late to submit your own film now, unfortunately, but you can still take part by voting on the finalists. Have a look on the O2 Guru TV site, here: The Finalists
Their site is loaded with some inventive concepts of shooting with a smartphone, creative sharing and all manner of brilliant ideas. For the apprentice or the master film-maker, I think a good half an hour on their site is mandatory. And you simply must check out the finalists and vote. They each spent a lot of time and hard work in their films, so let’s all be involved in this circle of thought, motion and action and enjoy the final bits of the Six Degrees of Summer. The final film will release in October . . . I can’t wait to see it!
Rick Swift highly approves! And, if you share with us whom you voted for on twitter at iRATEfilms we just might share something special with you.
But, hurry, voting ends in two days!!!
