Fast & Furious

FAST & FURIOUS . . . makes you wanna see what the Prius can really do.

The storyline

Hold on tight because this movie launches you right into non-stop action—oh, hell yeah! The characters are driven by revenge and the desire to bring down a large heroin dealer. The car races, chases and fight scenes are incredible. All the stops were pulled out for this film. Since the original Fast and the Furious, believe it or not over eight years ago, the series has continued to stomp on the throttle, accelerating past the competition, particularly this latest installment – blending together the power of throttling up quick imports and pumping up good ol’ American muscle.

The cast

Vin Diesel playing, Dominic Toretto, brought a lot of talent to this film. Not only does he have a strong presence, but the boy can act. Vin had to pull off an array of emotionally charged scenes; I feel he did very well. We love Vin for just being Vin, but with the competition of action films today, the actor needs to bring more to the silver screen, making us believe in his/her mission, cause, situation. Vin sold me – great job. Paul Walker also brought his A-game. Paul brings natural mystery to his character’s presence, which was great because it leads toward a non-linear plot for us to unravel.

Jordana Brewster did well, but not great. She’s easy on the eyes, but didn’t sell me. I feel she could throw in a bit more acting, she’s just too forgettable. So much talent, it’s a shame she doesn’t sparkle in this picture. You can do it, Jordana, just let go. Give us more. You know you want to do. And then there’s Michelle Rodriguez—wow. She’s a little sex kitten that would eat you for dinner, and you’d ask for seconds. Michelle brings rawness – what we love to see in pictures like this one. Hats off, Michelle, hope to see more of you in the future!

The good, bad, and indifferent

Great film. Worth every penny. Very, very sharp dialogue; however, I found some lines fell flat. Some made Vin sound a bit like a machine or robot—only a few, but this was so close to the best dialogue I’ve heard in ages in an action movie. But, at the end of the day, I was very, very impressed with this entire production. My suspension of disbelief started within the first minute; this is very rare for me. Very little films hold my attention within the first ten minutes. Also, I’m not a big fan of action films, let alone car racing (and I drive an AMG stick and a Ducati), but this picture’s creativity, storyline and overall production quality set the bar for others to follow. A special “hats off” to Justin Lin, director, and Chris Morgan the writer on this project. You guys have to be proud. Sending over some cold ones—enjoy.

Bottom line: See this film. Tell ‘em iratefilms.com sent ya. You won’t be disappointed. Made me run out to kick the Goodyears and say, “Bring it on, bitches
” Then, I waved to the cops as I made sure the speedo’ didn’t pass 15 pulling out of the theater lot. “Damn! Only in the movies
